The Chemists & Druggists Educational Society (C&DES), Kerala, established in 1981 (Reg. No. Q 622/81), is the educational arm of the All-Kerala Chemists & Druggists Association (AKCDA) Kerala's largest and most respected pharmaceutical trade organizations.

Established in 1971 and registered in 1973, AKCDA is affiliated with the All-India Organisation of Chemists & Druggists (AIOCD), the apex national body representing chemists, druggists, wholesalers, distributors, retailers, and pharmacy professionals across India. 

C&DES is a charitable educational society established in 1981 for public benefit and is governed collectively by elected members of the Society. The Society functions on a non-profit basis with a commitment to advancing pharmacy education and serving the healthcare needs of society.

The Society commenced its educational mission by establishing John Enoch College of Pharmacy, Thiruvananthapuram, in 1983. Continuing its commitment to expanding quality pharmacy education in Kerala, C&DES established the Chemists College of Pharmaceutical Sciences & Research (CHEMISTS), Varikoli, Ernakulam, in 2006. The institution has since emerged as a premier centre for pharmaceutical education, offering Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm), Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm), Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D), and Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) programmes, with modern infrastructure, research facilities, industry collaborations, and experiential learning opportunities that prepare students for successful careers in pharmacy and healthcare.

For over four decades, C&DES has remained steadfast in its pursuit of academic excellence, research, innovation, professional ethics, and community engagement. Through its institutions, the Society continues to uphold the highest standards of pharmacy education while fostering leadership, lifelong learning, and a spirit of service. Guided by its mission of advancing pharmaceutical education and strengthening healthcare, C&DES remains committed to developing highly skilled pharmacy professionals equipped to meet the evolving needs of the healthcare system and the global pharmaceutical industry.
